Two-Family Residence District

The R-3 Two-Family Residence District is designed to accommodate two-family dwellings on lots with minimum areas of 3,000 square feet per dwelling unit.  Single-family dwellings and certain public/semi-public uses intended to serve the residential development are permitted.  The R-3 District is intended to reflect existing mixtures of single and two-family dwellings, and single-family dwellings large enough to be converted for two-family occupancy without adverse impact upon the neighborhood.  Certain compatible, nonresidential uses may be permitted in this district as conditional uses, only after review and approval of detailed site plans by the Planning Commission and Council as outlined in this Zoning Ordinance.
