BWC awards $426,000 in grants to protect Ohio firefighters

Forty Ohio fire departments will share $426,000 in grants from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) under a program to protect firefighters from carcinogens and other harmful health hazards encountered by firefighters during their daily work activities.

Lake Erie western basin walleye and yellow perch futures look bright

Early data gathered by wildlife agencies in the western basin of Lake Erie indicate great news for Ohio anglers, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The 2018 walleye hatch appears to be exceptional, the second highest in the history of the Ohio survey, and the yellow perch hatch was strong, well above its long-term average.

Pharmacist sentenced for health care fraud scheme

IBAHRI calls on Bermuda, the UK and Commonwealth countries to protect LGBTI rights

The International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) today published three detailed letters sent on 21 June 2018 to the Premier of Bermuda, the then Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Secretary-General (SG) of the Commonwealth of Nations condemning the efforts of the legislature of Bermuda to reverse the Supreme Court of Bermuda’s 2017 decision regarding same-sex marriage. The letters also express concern at the general lack of support for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people, collectively referred to as the LGBTI community, in the country.
