Malaysian decision to cane lesbians, condemned by IBAHRI

The International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) recently condemned the decision in Malaysia to cane two lesbians. On 12 August 2018, the Terengganu Syariah High Court sentenced two women to six strokes of the cane and a fine of RM 3,300 for attempting to have sexual relations. The sentence is due to be carried out on Monday 3 September 2018.
