Toledo Legal News - News Man sentenced for fentanyl distribution ordered to pay funeral costs for juvenile who overdosed

 

Michael Chandler, 29, of Cincinnati, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 200 months in prison for distributing fentanyl. As part of his sentence, Chandler was also ordered to pay more than $9,000 in restitution to cover the funeral costs for an overdose death that resulted from Chandler’s drug distributing.

Supreme Court of Ohio considers disciplinary action against attorney who accused judges of incompetence

The Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday, June 26th, heard four oral arguments, including an issue brought by the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct which is recommending a one-year suspension with six months stayed for Cleveland attorney Richard A. Oviatt. According to the board’s report, the attorney “impugned the integrity of the judges from the Eighth District Court of Appeals by accusing them of incompetence, corruption, and criminal conduct.”

Toledo to play at Ohio State in 2022

The University of Toledo football team will play Ohio State in Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Sept. 17, 2022, UT vice president and athletic director Mike O'Brien announced. The contest will mark the fourth meeting between the two schools and the first since a 27-22 Buckeye victory in Columbus in 2011.
