ODNR Division of Wildlife closes Operation North Coast Case

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) has closed the adjudication phase of what has become the largest case in the 146-year history of the ODNR Division of Wildlife. The case, dubbed Operation North Coast, culminated in March 2016 with the execution of search warrants, arrest warrants and dozens of simultaneous interviews. The case primarily concerned the illegal taking and sales of Lake Erie sportfish and white-tailed deer meat products in counties along the Lake Erie shoreline. Since the takedown, state wildlife investigators have spent 2.5 years attending court hearings in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lucas, Richland, Ottawa and Wood counties.

Rockets suffer setback against Bowling Green

Toledo women's swimming and diving fell, 223-129, to arch-rival Bowling Green Saturday, Feb. 9, in its final dual meet of the season. The Rockets recorded three event victories and 25 top-three finishes over the weekend. The meet was highlighted by the recognition of seniors Jessica Avery and Bailey Cahill ahead of day two's events.

Rockets win 20th game with 78-71 victory at Bowling Green

Senior Chris Darrington scored a game-high 20 points on Saturday night to lead Toledo (20-4, 8-3 MAC) to a 78-71 victory over arch-rival Bowling Green (16-7, 8-2 MAC) before a sold-out crowd of 5,000 in the Stroh Center. The victory gave the Rockets their fourth 20-win season in the last six years and was UT's eighth victory in last nine outings.

Rockets bag first win of 2019, take down Saint Louis

Toledo Softball and first-year head coach Joe Abraham recorded their first win of the season Sunday, Feb. 10, in an unforgettable 4-0 shutout of Saint Louis on the final day of the Northern Iowa UNI-Dome Classic. Sophomore Erin Hunt broke the UT record for most strikeouts in a single game in route to her first Division I win, and sophomore Kylie Norwood hit a grand slam to end her impressive weekend.

Toledo stifles Eastern Michigan at home, 63-43
